BMW's technology platform tested by CPA
BMW i8
With the BMW i8, BMW will present the brand's first plug-in hybrid in 2014. The futuristically designed sports car is powered by a 3-cylinder turbo and a 131 hp electric motor. To ensure that the 570 NM are transferred to the road as evenly as possible, all-wheel drive is provided. The electric motor drives the front axle, while the combustion engine acts on the rear axle. This is where the innovative chip tuning of the CPA PowerBox comes in, with the help of the engine-specific software, the performance of the combustion engine can be increased by up to 12%, up to 258 hp and 358 NM. The increased power noticeably improves acceleration and overall performance.
