Powerful Stuttgarter put to the test

With the CLA 45 AMG, Mercedes is redefining the terms power and performance in the mid-size class. The newly developed four-cylinder engine with turbocharging drives the 4Matic all-wheel drive via an AMG Speedshift 7-speed sports transmission. This means that the power is optimally transferred to the road and the AMG completes the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in about 4.2 seconds. A twin-scroll exhaust gas turbocharger presses fresh air into the combustion chambers at full load at 1.8 bar, thus ensuring a series output of a breathtaking 381 hp. This is where engine-specific chip tuning, developed by CPA, comes into play. If necessary, parameters such as boost pressure or injection quantity can be optimised, resulting in a performance increase of up to 49 hp and 88 NM. A lot of extra power for this speedster. We tested the CLA 45 AMG with our chip tuning on the test bench and also on the road and are absolutely satisfied with the result.
