Remarkable performance despite downsizing

Mercedes E-Class (W212) E 63 AMG

Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG

The E-Class can be described as a fixed star in the Mercedes sky, it is one of the most important model series of the car manufacturer from Stuttgart and regularly has to prove itself in the showdown with the Audi A6 and BMW 5 Series. The fourth generation of the E-Class was launched in 2009 and impressed customers with its lavish comfort and sophisticated safety. Even then, the assistance systems paved the way for autonomous driving. Mercedes relied on downsizing with regard to the engines, mainly to reduce fleet consumption. Even the top-of-the-range AMG 63 variant cannot avoid the cost-cutting measure. The 6.3 L naturally aspirated engine of the predecessor gives way to a 5.5 L biturbo. However, the AMG has by no means lost performance and driving dynamics. We developed the engine-specific software for the E63 on the test bench and put it through its paces. The impressive result: an increase in power of up to 121 hp and 157 NM of torque. The E63 AMG thus shows the taillights to any doubters regarding the lower displacement. Let yourself be inspired by the impressive extra power of the Mercedes E Class.
